Abyssus Abyssum Invocat is an award winning animation!
Many exiting goings on with Abyssus Abyssum Invocat! The film has racked up 19 (one of which I can't mention yet) and still has a good shot in being accepted in to a few more before the season is out! I couldn't have hoped for a better response to the film. Also the film WON best mixed media animation in the California International Animation Festival!!!! I've also been offered 2 distribution deals and am still sorting out the details as far as that aspect goes. I've never been through this process before and there's much to learn and consider. Just having received a fantastic script for the next project, I'm very much looking forward to diving in to the next stop mo piece which has a projected length of 23 minutes and will have a much more advanced look! Of course a LOT of money must be raised for a project of this magnitude but some very promising whispers have been spoken during the production meetings! I believe it can happen!

2013- Mid Year Progress
It's been a very productive year so far! I've had a good deal
of work in the storyboarding realm as well as a great start in venturing
in to the world of animation! As far as storyboards are concerned, I've
had the good fortune of working on projects with Duracell, Reebok,
Macy's (x8), HBO (Louis CK), Target, The Judge Mathis Project
(animatic), GAP, Uncle Ben's, Dunkin Donuts, Jagermeister, Amazon.com
and IBM! Thanks for keeping the bill paid guys!
On the animation front I've been quite busy also. I completed a few animatics which can be viewed through my website (storyboardsnewyork.com). I use primarily AfterEffects for these and have an animated Edward
Gorey pitch close to completion in which this wonderful program is
utilized. My stop motion film, Abyssus Abyssum Invocat, has been
accepted in to 12 festivals as of now and just won best mixed media animation
in the California International Animation Festival! The film has been
submitted to many more competitive festivals and I'm hoping to have
additional laurels before the year is out! A
preview of the film can be viewed at https://vimeo.com/64506627.
The next big stop mo project script is currently being written by my good pal, Frank
Tuccillo and I'm so looking forward to digging in to that! I mean
really, it's all I think about these days. Here's to an even better 2nd half of 2013!

The Boston Underground Film Festival has accepted Abyssus Abyssum Invocat in to its program! I was really hoping for this one but really felt it was going to be a long shot. Apparently, this really odd film found the perfect spot in this selective festival! Boston, here we come!

My Film Abyssus Abyssum Invocat has been accepted in to the Savannah International Animation Festival for their stopmotion competition! I started submitting to festivals back in early November and have been on pins and needles ever since I started the process. This the first festival that I've heard back from so far and getting accepted on the very first response is quite a good feeling. When you work on something for as long as I have worked on this project, it's really hard to keep your objectivity. I question the films quality constantly so this is QUITE a relief!

New Animatic complete!
I did this animatic as a demonstration of a new service that I'll be offering in 2013. I chose to do this demo to the song Aging Young Rebel by DJ Food (featuring Ken Nordine) as it's always been a tune that inspires a visual dialog. Enjoy and be sure to check out storyboardsnewyork.com as it has just been revamped!
